Young riders who are interested in taking part in the 2009 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup are invited to apply online to be considered in the selection process.

Next year will see the third annual edition of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup initiative, which seeks to train young riders and prepare them for possible future participation in the World Championship - with races taking place at specified MotoGP venues, coinciding with Grand Prix weekends.

A forthcoming series of selection events marks the first stage of the 2009 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup Programme. They are open to all junior racing enthusiasts born between 1st January 1992 and 31st December 1995.

The following initial selection events will be held:
- Adria Raceway, Italy, 1st and 2nd September 2008
- Adria Raceway, Italy, 3rd and 4th September 2008

In order to have the chance to participate in a selection event riders have to register on the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup web site, by filling in the form in the `Application´ section. The application deadline is Friday, 15th August 2008.

Once selected to take part in a selection event riders will receive a time-schedule including more detailed information on the programme of the event.

The best riders of the initial selection events will qualify for the final selection, which will take place at the Circuito do Estoril, Portugal on 7th and 8th November 2008. Shortly after the final selection, the riders for the 2009 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup will be announced.
