The Britek Motorsport Formula Ford team will be on equal-terms with their rivals when the Genuine Ford Parts Australian Formula Championship visits Darwin's Hidden Valley for the first time.
The championship which dates back to 1969 has never visited the Top-En=, in the process making it a brand-new experience for the entire Formula Ford field.
The Minda Motorsport run Britek Motorsport Scholarship has prepared we=l and the three-car entry is sure to figure in the final results.
Adam Graham (Lismore ˜ NSW) in the McLaughlin Freight Lines entry co=es into the event third in the championship standings with team-mates Martin Swindells (Brisbane ˜ Qld) in the Refrigerated Rental & Sales entry and Ben Walter (Hobart ˜ Tas) aboard the Road Solutions car, both coming off strong performances at Sandown.
The chance to race at a new circuit has Swindells excited going into D=rwin.
‘A lot of tracks have been new to me this year, but a new track for =veryone really evens everything out,’ said Swindells.
‘The fact that I have had to learn new tracks this year means I go t= Hidden Valley undaunted ˜ while some of the others might find it a little more difficult.
‘Preparation is important and with the relationship with Britek Moto=sport and in particular Jason Bright, I have been able to get a lot of important information ahead of the race weekend.
‘I feel like I'm improving every time I get in the car and it woul= be great to bring a trophy home from the first event in the Top-End.’
Minda Motorsport Team Principal Bruin Beasley is looking at a potentia= win in Darwin.
‘It's a long-haul to the Top-End and we want to make it a winner,’=said Beasley.
‘We have a very good line-up of drivers and it's a new experience =or everyone in the field. Only a couple of guys have had a run in other categories at the track, but really nothing of a major advantage.
‘I have been impressed with Adam, Martin and Ben's approach to the=race. They have studied the circuit and are aware of the change in climate they will experience. All up I could not be happier heading to a race weekend.’
