962-123 was then sold to Vern Schuppan and sent out to the Far East for the Japanese Sportscar Championship. Here it was campaigned by Team Schuppan and driven by Derek Bell and Brian Redman in Takefuji livery. Also driven by Price Cobb and Kenny Acheson in Omron livery who took the third overall 1988 champion ship position with 962-123. Lastly 962-123 was driven by Maurizio Sala and Eje Elgh in Rothman livery for Vern Schuppan/Rothman lease events.

HISTORIC RACING: Car has FIA Papers and has raced in the following events: 2001 Limerock Park USA HSRA 1st in class with Bob Akin Motorsport 2003 Monza Group C did not race but in practice positioned itself in 8th position overall and 2nd in class with Brun Racing
CURRENT CONDITION: Since its most recent outing in the Historic Group C championship at Monza in 2003, 962-123 has been completely rebuilt. The power plant was totally redone by Siggi Brun. It is consequently being sold with zero hrs on the engine, all it accessories, the transmission and differential and just two hrs on the chassis. The body was not repainted to keep originality but is in very fine shape. The total rebuilt so far has cost in excess of $125.000 USD. The car has many valuable spares.
ROTHMAN LIVERY: The car did race in Takefuji livery as raced by Derek Bell and Brian Redman and in Omron livery as raced by Price Cobb and Kenny Acheson, however at present the car's livery is as it last left the Vern Schuppan race team when driven by Maurizio Sala and Eje Elgh for the Vern Schuupan Rothman lease events and as it has been raced in its last few historic events.
962-123 would make an exceptional addition to any serious Porsche collection and is a rare opportunity to acquire a genuine Rothmans-liveried 962.
