NEW 120M SUPERYACHT DESIGN BY RHOADES YOUNG

The designers at Rhoades Young have produced a 120m design concept with one very unusual attribute. This rarefied vessel incorporates a landing strip and hanger for the world's first civil tilt-rotor aircraft, the BA 609. Additionally, the yacht looks like no other, reflecting the individual spirit a client in this league would possess.

Rhoades Young has reinterpreted the clean lines and flush decks from vessels of the 1900's producing a fresh and forward thinking approach to modern yacht design.

‘We wanted to capture some of the essence and grace of a yacht like Delphine without the layers of period detail to create a very pure form’ says Rhoades Young.

In addition to the above-mentioned landing strip and hanger, a protected float-through hull allows guests to board in safety & privacy. On the aft side, the crew can unload provisions without being thrown against the yacht's hull in a swell. One or both shell doors can be opened to create a protected swim area. The door can also serve as a mooring pier for water toys. When the water is pumped out, this space becomes a gleaming dry-dock for the yacht's larger tenders.

Guests need to be reconnected to the environment on yachts over 60m. To achieve this, indoor/outdoor lounge areas have been created near the waterline and VIP cabins have extendable balconies that can be opened or closed to the elements. Many of the unique features are only possible when designing yachts of this size and calibre.

Flexing it's creative muscle, Rhoades Young has produced a truly individual expression of beauty and strength by throwing away the expected formula.
