RIVA MEETINGS 2008: AFTER MIAMI THE FAMILY COMES BACK TO EUROPE

June 26, 27 and 28, 2008: these were the three dates for the eagerly awaited annual appointment of the Riva Trophy Europe. After having inaugurated the season with the very first Riva Trophy USA, held in Miami from February 21st to 23rd, the Riva family moved back to the Old Continent to meet with its European owners. Organized for the first time in Spain, the Trophy was framed this year by the suggestive landscape of Palma de Mallorca, which offered many exclusive locations where Riva pampered its guests. Attendees were Riva owners coming from all over Europe, who have made Riva boats their irresistible passion. Devoted entirely to owners, the event displayed Riva's classic models in wood, ‘living’ witnesses to the company's long history, as well as the latest innovations and the most recent fiberglass models. Following its tradition, Riva fans were offered a unique mix of style, play, elegance and amusement able to create convivial occasions and imaginative competitions, the first of which was the reliability trial. Starting from Puerto Portals, owners arrived at the exclusive beach of Illetas, where they challenged themselves with the realization of art masterpieces inspired by Switzerland and Credit Suisse. The wonderful bay of Sant'Elm, just opposite to Dragonera Island, was instead the destination of participants' trip on Saturday. On the same day, attendees practiced once again their fantasy thanks to the Veuve Clicquot elegance competition, inspired this year by the yellow and black colours of La Grande Dame. Competitions were as usual mixed up with pleasant relaxing moments in the most prestigious hotels of this lively Spanish city, which is also one of the most exclusive destinations in the Mediterranean. The gala dinner, during which the winners of the different competitions were awarded, took place in an unusual and prestigious location such as the modern and contemporary art museum Es Baluard. Placed in the centre of the Isle, this museum also offered a wonderful panoramic view on Palma bay. As usual, Riva was joined on this occasion by its partners Credit Suisse and Veuve Clicquot, that were also the inspiration themes of the artistic competitions organized during the event, while guests enjoyed once again the Vini Pasqua during the dinners. The Riva Trophy Europe was also the occasion to preview the very first examples of the Cruise Collection ‘La Grande Dame by Riva’, a project realized in cooperation with Veuve Clicquot.
