Philips proudly presents the next generation of Aurea FlatTVs at IFA 2008. The new range features a number of aesthetic and technical improvements over the first generation of Aurea FlatTVs. These iconic, design-led masterpieces feature even more cutting-edge technology than before, delivering the most immersive and cinematic home TV viewing experiences possible. The new Aurea range consists of two screen sizes ˜ 37" and 42".
The new Aurea LCD TVs are equipped with the latest version of the Perfect Pixel HD Engine which processes an astonishing five million pixels per second, double the performance of its predecessor. Each pixel of the incoming picture is enhanced to better match the surrounding pixels, delivering a more natural and lifelike picture.
100Hz Clear LCD creates extreme motion sharpness for clear and vibrant images even with fast on-screen motion. The Double Frame Rate Insertion works with a high 100Hz refresh rate. It increases the sharpness of motion reproduction to more than twice that of conventional LCD, resulting in a performance with a response time of 2 milliseconds ˜ the fastest LCD refresh rate in the world.
Extensive feedback has shown that consumers want LCD flat TVs with a high level of contrast and most vibrant images. Philips advanced video processing combined with unique extreme dimming and backlight boosting technology results in vibrant images. Dynamic Contrast increases the contrast with excellent black level and accurate rendition of dark shades and colors.
Philips invented Perfect Natural Motion to eliminate juddering effects that are visible with movie based picture content. Perfect Natural Motion estimates motion in the picture and corrects juddering movements in both broadcast and recorded movie material (such as DVD and Blu-ray Disc). Perfect Natural Motion results in even smoother and quieter pictures with excellent sharpness. Perfect Natural Motion removes judder from SD and HD pictures without generating halos.
