Chartering a new course in Australian audio, Sony has just launched its first ever complete range of entertainment products designed specifically for the marine market. The new Sony marine audio range consists of a splash-proof head unit (with an auxiliary-in, allowing you to play tunes from any compatible portable music device), four sets of 6" speakers, a 10" subwoofer, a four-channel amplifier and a remote control.
Tough and Rugged Listening to music on a boat is an exhilarating experience, but it's important to choose marine audio equipment wisely. Water, salt, UV rays, plus the constant shock and vibration of riding waves, all take their toll on audio equipment and can cause damage over a period of time. The only way to guarantee high quality audio performance on board is to use dedicated marine products, designed to handle the extreme conditions of life at sea.
Sony's new range of durable marine audio equipment is perfect for hosting on-deck parties or listening to symphonies while sailing around the Tasman Sea.
Sound Waves The tough and rugged CDX-HS70MW Marine Stereo has been developed to handle the sea with UV resistant paint. Its splash-proof front panel complements the design of any dashboard and it can be mounted at any angle up to 45º.
The CDX-HR70MW is equipped with all the features you need to enjoy your favourite music on board, including a tuner, CD Deck and the ability to connect any portable music device, including Walkman and iPod MP3 players, to the system. With outstanding sound control, this stereo will make some big sound waves on the water.
Perfect Sound Reproduction High quality speakers capable of withstanding the ravages of wind, sun and water are top priority for any boat enthusiast. Sony marine speakers are fully water, UV and salt resistant for stable performance, no matter how extreme the weather conditions. They also feature insulated leads for added protection against the elements and excellent sound reproduction.
For ultimate on-board power, the XM-604M 4/3 channel marine amplifier with 600W maximum output power is ideal. Delivering the sound are XS-MP1610W Dual Cone Speakers; a 16cm polypropylene speaker set delivering 140W peak power, and the step-up XS-MP1620W 2-way coaxial speakers, providing up to 160W of power.
Seafaring party animals should also check out the rugged XS-L100P5M ten inch subwoofer, sporting an incredible 800W of power with a unique P5 cone design offering superior rigidity. This subwoofer employs a unique design so that it takes up much less space than a conventional subwoofer as a result of not having to be installed in an enclosure.
Captain and Commander The handy waterproof RM-X55M remote offers simple control of the stereo and is easily mountable, so that the head unit is kept well away from the damaging elements.
Plus for total weather proofing, the GMD-616 waterproof stereo cover sports an ultra reliable O-ring seal, providing a safe haven for the head unit. Compatible with all standard DIN-sized head units, it includes a front mask opening for easy operation and injection moulded polycarbonate frame for excellent durability. This is the perfect accessory for converting a normal car stereo into a stereo for your boat.
