Linking security with other options such as smart lighting, the lights and drapes can be controlled to give the house a lived-in feel while you are away. If some-one breaks in, all the lights can be turned on to scare the intruder.

So that you don't have to fumble around looking for your keys, the security system can include keyless entry.

As soon as you are home, certain lights will turn at night and your favourite music can start playing.

Cameras can be monitored so that you can tell who came to the front door or the rear courtyard and when.

If some-one rings the front door bell, you can see who it is by just changing the channel on the TV. When you are away you can check the cameras on the Internet.

Keyless entry can allow the garage door to be opened, When combined with a touchscreen system, the touchscreen can show the state of reed switches etc. and be used as a security keypad

Remote access via the Internet or telephone to arm or disarm the system.

SMART Systems was founded in 1995 and has grown rapidly. The people behind SMART Systems each have an average of 15 years working experience in relevant fields such as building automation systems, energy auditing, control systems, computing, networks, electronics and electrical installations. Kay Wennagel, the founding director and head engineer brings a diversity of experience from running major building automation projects for buildings such as Southgate and the former State Bank Centre (Elizabeth and Bourke) through to running an energy auditing and management company.

We have assembled a group of people with diverse skill sets with strong technical backgrounds, including security specialists, high-end audio-video specialists, control specialists, data and networking specialists, lighting specialists and multi-room audio specialists.

We are members of CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association) and of ASIAL (Australian Security Industry Association Limited) and have AUSTEL accreditation.

SMART Systems aims to be the best in its field. We are not tied to specific products. Our mission is to offer the best combination of products, integrated and tailored to match the client's requirements. While we are both a young and a small company, our level of service, work standards and professionalism are tangible proof of our desire to still have our current customers in 50 years.

SMART Systems designs and cables houses with a wiring infrastructure which allows for both current and future requirements, including Intelligent Lighting, smart security, access control, high speed Internet connection and distribution, Analogue and Digital TV reception and distribution, Multi-Room Sound, Digital Display Technologies, Internet control of house devices remotely and forthcoming Home Control Protocols.
