Hassan M'Souli arrived in Australia in 1985 from Casablanca, Morocco. His passion for cooking evolved in his mother's kitchen at a young age and he pursued that passion along with those of acting and teaching.
Hassan's decision to leave family and friends behind him, brought him to the shores of Sydney - he wanted to be as far away from familiarity as possible - to start an exciting journey in life, in a new and challenging environment. He found his dreams in Sydney and an opportunity to introduce a unique taste that Sydney had never seen before. The Mosquito Bar in Mosman is where it all started, but Hassan didn't stop there, opening Casablanca in Manly, and now Out of Africa - his biggest and most successful restaurant.
Out of Africa have an extensive menu to choose from, including some Moroccan favourites! Our Tajines are bursting with flavour and the aroma is amazing! - choose from vegetable, chicken, lamb, fish or the Moroccan Meatball Tajine, one of our best sellers.

Weekly specials utilise some of the more unusual meats - including Ostrich, Quail and Venison shanks.
Out of Africa has been adorned with numerous awards and articles complimenting style, atmosphere, food and service. Chef and owner Hassan M'Souli has appeared in shows on SBS, ABC Radio and Channel 7, articles have appeared in Vogue, New Woman, The Sun Herald, Weekender, Manly and Mosman Daily's, to mention a few. Hassan's Recipe book 'Moroccan Modern' was released in October 2004, sold out by February 2005, it has been re-printed and is back in stores nation-wide.
