Jane Hunter O.B.E heads this fiercely independent Marlborough
based wine company, Hunter's Wines (NZ) Ltd, one of New Zealand's
best known wineries. Hunter's Wines has been instrumental in
establishing the Marlborough area as one of New Zealand's major
grape growing regions. Through Jane's determination, together with
the talents of Chief Winemaker Gary Duke, Hunter's Wines have
won more than 100 gold medals and numerous trophies at wine
competitions in London, Sydney, Hong Kong, Switzerland, the USA
and New Zealand. Hunter's vineyards are accredited New Zealand
Wine Growers Sustainable Vineyards. The programme focuses on
all manner of environmental issues affecting the wine industry in
New Zealand. It promotes a measured approach to the use of sprays,
water and energy to guarantee better quality assurance from the
vineyard to the bottle.
