Profile
Oriental Antique Gallery opened in 1997, with the first store in Armadale, Victoria. From there, the business has grown to include stores interstate in New South Wales and Queensland.
These exclusive antiques are imported from all parts of China; in major cities such as Shanghai and Beijing, and outer provinces such as Ning Po, Shan Xi, and Tibet.
The stores have a wide variety of items with new shipments coming from China every 8 weeks. Items are selected in the periods of Ming Guo Dynasty, and late Ching Dynasty between 1800s-1950. The furniture is made from various woods such as Elm, Yellow Pear, Ti Chi, and Camphor. Traditional Chinese furniture modified to incorporate modern design features, creating the perfect blend of East meets West, antique nostalgia combined with contemporary convenience. These are genuine antique pieces, carefully restored to pristine, showroom condition, and with thoughtfully applied adjustments made to allow for modern applications. Utilising a unique and ancient system of craftsmanship, which does not involve the use of any conventional nailing system, these pieces are also adorned with intricately hand-painted Chinese style imagery and iconic features.
