The Bayford Group began as a small Ford dealership located in Fitzroy in 1917. The founder of the firm, Dick Bayford, had worked for the Ford Motor Company in America. He viewed the sale of a car as the start of a lifetime relationship, and would do anything to preserve that relationship. Dick's enthusiasm for customer service was to be the guiding principle of the business over the next 88 years.

Camberwell Volkswagen opened its doors on 18th December 2002 and became recognised as the biggest stand alone specialty Volkswagen dealership in Melbourne. The new dealership has become a premier flagship for Volkswagen in Australia.
