Motoring enthusiasts will rev their engines at the sight of Shannons new 'Super Rig', which has just hit the road as the focal point of a travelling road show set to span the country.
Executive Manager Graeme Browne said the purpose-built semi-trailer had been commissioned especially for Shannons, Australia's leading insurer for motoring enthusiasts.
‘At Shannons, we know that a passion for cars isn't limited to people living in major cities. So the Super Rig will allow our staff to travel across the country to meet motoring enthusiasts throughout regional Australia,’ Mr Browne said.
‘We will be attending events such as rural field days and air shows and will be able to offer car lovers a quote to insure their vehicle, bike and home,’ he said.
‘The Super Rig will also have staff on board who can arrange for car lovers to have their car, motorcycle or motoring memorabilia included in an upcoming Shannons auction. It really is a one stop shop for motoring enthusiasts.’
Comprising an impressive 21-metre long truck and trailer unit, the Super Rig unfolds into an 8 x 8 metre state-of-the-art hospitality, entertainment and information centre.
‘At major events, the Super Rig is the place to be. It has a roof-top deck, barbecue facilities and plasma screens, making it prime position for viewing some of these fabulous motoring events,’ he said.
‘And for those who are impressed by the latest gizmos, there are state-of-the-art driving simulators and gaming consoles on board, making the Shannons‟ Super Rig an entertainment hub wherever it travels.’
The Super Rig will also feature a display of motoring memorabilia and special vehicles ˜ including the iconic Goggomobil Dart that has featured in Shannons advertising.
Mr Browne said the Shannons Super Rig would open its doors to enthusiasts for the first time in the Northern Territory over the July 26-27 weekend for the inaugural Shannons Alice Springs Extravaganza ˜ a unique motor show that caters for current and classic vehicles of all makes and models.
‘As a significant part of Australia‟s car and motor cycle enthusiast community for many years, Shannons supports more than 500 different club-based events and activities annually,’ he said.
‘The Super Rig will travel to motor enthusiast events throughout the nation and we expect the travelling road show to be in high demand wherever it goes. It will add an extra dimension to some of the best motoring events in the country’.
