Car was purchased in Romsey about 8 years ago, at the time the ute was in a barn and full of horse blankets. The ute conversion had been done many years earlier but starting with a very sound car. At this point the car had no engine and was still six volt.


The car was repainted at that point in the original Bahama Blue. The car now sits on a 1970 model type 3 IRS pan, with disc brake front end. The car was then sold and fitted with a subaru engine which has since been removed. The vehicle was purchased back, around 3 years later. The car now has a rebuilt 1600cc engine VW engine. The car has only just been collected from having the engine done
Work completed includes: The engine was removed and stripped down. The engine was then crack tested and then fitted with new pistons and barrells. The cylinder heads were then disassembled, sandblasted, flycut valves & valve seats & lap in valves. The engine was then assembled with new pushrod tubes and tube seals, rear main seal, oil cooler seal, new fuel pump, rocker cover gasket, points, plugs, rotor button etc.


Car is fitted with twin HPMX 40 mm dual throat carbs and fuel cut off solenoid. The car is now fitted with Kombi accelerator cable.


The car has brand new battery and front screen, Other recent additions are a set of BRM Alloy Wheels fitted with Dunlop 195/65 R 15 lm600's, Bamboo parcel shelf, CD player and brand new correct taillight lenses and empi exhaust.
