This attractive and very original LHD Porsche Carrera coupe has been well cared for by the previous Californian owner. Finished in an eye catching Peru Red, this alluring 2.7 Coupe has the performance to match the looks. Porsche made only 395 Carrera Coupes for the US market in 1975, this example we have available is build number 147. The whale-tail spoiler replaced the duck tail on the Carrera in 75 and a new front spoiler was added. Carrera models also had body-coloured headlight surrounds and external mirrors. The 2.7-Litre engines were more flexible and produced their torque at lower revolutions allowing longer ratios to be used in both 1974 and 1975 models. Suspension improvements included Bilsten gas-filled shock absorbers all round, some rear end changes included a move to forged aluminium alloy semi-trailing arms that where more rigid and 3.5kgs lighter than the fabricated steel items, at the same time a stronger rear wheel bearing was incorporated into the design. The 1975 models also received an upgrade to a 70A/980 watt altenator to handle the increasing amount of electrical equipment.
